So far provided with suposedly bootable ISOs of OpenSolaris and Centos 5.2, attempt to create a VM from those CD's gets complaint media not bootable.

Is there an OS X utility that will tell me what the DVD appears to be ISO vs not-ISO, BOOTABLE vs not-BOOTABLE?

Is there any way with VB 3.1.0 on Mac Intel OS X 10.5.8 to load bootable iso images from my main disk hfs+ like my documents (vs from a CD/DVD) ?

Is there a readme for best practices to DL bootables to OS X and howto burn successfully?

Thank you / Everett ( efbatey AT gmail DOT com )

FOLLOWUP Question: IS THERE ANY WAY to verify if Guest DVD (OSOL, CENTOS, XP) is truly bootable. Media downloads claimed they were bootable. I wrote them to DVD and tried to install guests. VB says they are not bootable images.

IS THERE ANY WAY to test (I am running MAC OS X 10.5.8, VirtualBox 3.1.0) if media are bootable?

Can you suggest a place and file name to download to test if I have bad media or if 3.1.0 on Mac is my problem?

Thanks. :(
