VERR_VD_IMAGE_READ_ONLY Error

I am trying to convert a physical WinXP image to a VB image. I used DD to make the clone and everything was just fine, it even booted. Now when I try to boot it I get a VERR_VD_IMAGE_READ_ONLY error. Any idea why this is happening?
