This past summer
Perryg posted a few helps for shared folders on Windows 7 VMs. I assume his advice still applies to the release version of Windows 7.

Thanks for the XP shared folder help - it was the requirement for all lowercase and no spaces, working excellent now!

I still have a problem with using shared folders in win7.
I use shared folders in XP under mac os x 10.6.2 so I copied the definitions into win7 virt.machine but it wouldn't work. I saw the post on the NET USE and tried that : in the Command Prompt :
net use x: \\vboxsvr\vboxshr -p
The command is accepted but changes the definitions in the "Computer" rather than in the "Network" (see the attached screenshot).
When I select one of the vboxsvr occurrences, I get a message - "Location is not available ....X:\ refers to a location that is unavailable .....".
What I am doing wrong?
