AverMedia TV tuner

Post by 1147smb »

Didn't find any VB forum info on Avermedia.
VB loaded w/10G partition for guest.

Mac OS 10.6.2 host on Intel MacBook Pro
Windows xp (sp3) guest
Attempting to use AverMedia mini Express card tv tuner, which only runs on Windows.
Everything loaded and updated, and media program loads perfectly.
Card is recognized by the Mac.
When I attempt to set up viewing parameters and settings, media program says it can't find the tuner card.
Windows device manager has yellow ? on 'Intel PCIC compatible PCMCIA controller'.
Attempted driver update, but Win Update says best driver on board.
Removing card and looking at Mac system profile, no info on express card function.
How does virtual machine know what to do with the slot?
What am I missing and where do i find it?

PCI cards will not work in a Virtual Machine AFAIK.
