Dial up question

I am using 3.0.12 installed on 32 bit XP. My CPU is a quad AMD Phenom (or something like that). For fun I installed 64 bit XP as a guest and it works perfectly. Online, no problem. Whenever I try any Linux as a guest however I cannot get online. Of course the host is online during this time.

Any ideas?

I want to say though that this is the greatest thing I've seen since 1982 when I got a C64 for my kids. KUDO's to Sun et al.
