Using Virtualbox 3.1.0 installed on Windows XP 64 I have created a Fedora 12 and Debian unstable VMs. Both seem to work fine on XP 64. I need to copy these VMs for use on a MacPro with 32GB of RAM, 8 cores and OS X 10.5. I exported the appliances and burned them to a UDF DVD. When I try to import them on the MacPro, it says the vmdk images are unreadable. I made the DVD with Nero 9 and it verified successfully. I am going to try copying the appliances to a USB drive instead of the DVD. Has anyone had any similar problems with VirtualBox on OS X? I also tried installing Redhat Linux 5.3 as a VM using VirtualBox directly on the MacPro and the installation aborts unexpectedly about 3/4 of the way through. I also have VMWare on the Mac and it has been unable to read the vmdks made by VirutalBox.

When copying them of the CD/DVD to the local disk remove the readonly flag.

I installed VirtualBox 3.1.2 and it was able to import the exported Fedora 12 appliance from my Windows XP 64 box.
Now however, when I run Fedora 12 it complains about memory exhausted or something and aborts the guest. Sorry I don't have the exact error message handy but will get it if anyone cares. I believe what is happening though is the OS X version of VirtualBox 3.1.2 that I installed on OS X 10.5.8 is 32 bits. When I reduced the memory for the Fedora 12 guest to 2 GB, Fedora seemed to run OK. In the settings dialog I can't change anything to settings that would apply to a 64 bit guest. For example memory greater than 3.8 GB.
My question is why, when I installed VirtualBox 3.1.2 didn't the installer install the 64 bit version? Is there a 64 bit OS X version of VirtualBox?
The Mac I'm using is a MacPro with 32GB of Ram so, memory shouldn't be a factor.
