Newbie questions

Hi, I have only just found out about VB. I use Linux Mint8 but need to log out and go to Windoze to use my favourite programs that Linux just does not have (or equal) including Fineprint and CD Labels, as I make lots of hand-made books using Fineprint, and I print to printable CDs using CD Label for direct to CD printing on my Canon printer. My question is, can I run Linux Mint8 and Windows programs at the same time? ie. burn DVDs in Linux and at the same time be printing the finished printable DVDs with my CD Label program in Windows? I have 2Gb RAM and I would split that 50/50. Thnx for any advise.

Sure it is possible. Only thing is if your luck at making a Frisbee or cup holders are as good as mine you probably should not be tasking your system while burning a CD/DVD. Other things can be done at the same time though.

A further question re VB. As I have a 1Tb external USB HDD, it would seem very possible that I can set VB up on that, including a Data folder. I have tons of space on my ext HDD for this. I understand VB is 'portable' and it can be moved/copied to my computer HDD in future. Am I correct in assuming this? And has anyone done this successfully? Thnx for any advice.
