Hi,

Since upgrading to virtualbox 3.1.0. Under a Windows 7 guest, it has been beeping annoyingly from scrolling and hitting the end of a scroll bar or scrolling on a page without a scroll bar. From inside the guest. Turning off window's sound themes does not effect it.

I have tried this under both Windows 7 32-bit and Windows 7 64-bit running on my MBP running OSX 10.6.2. This behavior is not present in virtualbox 3.0.12 under the same host conditions.

While it is not game breaking, it is annoying, and the only way to get it to stop is to mute the virtual machine but the sound event still fires, albeit unheard. Wondering if someone knows of someone to stop this, or if this is just a bug I will have to live with until it gets fix.

I'd like to confirm that this happens with my installation too. Quite annoying. Hopefully someone has a fix?

What Audio settings do you have set in the VirtualBox > Settings > Audio tab? Did you install any sound drivers to enable audio in the Win 7 guest?

Audio Controller: ICH AC97

it was floating around in some other thread a while ago.

I read that this also happens to real PCs and some people have solved the problem by updating to the latest Realtek drivers.

Have you tried updating to the 6305_Vista_Win7_PG537 driver from Realtek's website? Topic http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic. ... ek#p109726

I have the same exact problem. I have a Snow Leopard host OS and a Windows 7 Ultimate guest OS. I have the same audio settings as Saga. I'm considering downgrading to the last version until they fix this...
