Hi,
Until now, I am using BootCamp with XP with networking disabled, with a USB printer attached to the Mac.
I envisage to install VB on my Mac and to use the wireless capability of my printer.
So, the host is OS X, the guest is XP. I need to use the VM on XP only and only to use a sw for professional reason - nothing else (no internet)
When I will use the VM:
I do not need to share any data between host/guest
I do not need use of USB sticks
I do not need internet access
- What I need is to be able to use my network (not USB) printer set on the host; Can I do that via the Share option of the OS X System Preferences panel on the host; or should I (re)install the printer in the VM (driver install for XP, ...) ?
- Given the very limited network access required for my personal use of the VM - only the printer - should I envisage to install an antivirus on the VM. Could I restrict network access of the VM to the printing features?
Thanks for your help
Guidance for printing and antivirus
Re: Guidance for printing and antivirus
Share the printer on the Host via ldp and print from a Guest with lpr using a Host-only lan connection.

Thanks for your prompt answer.
Not sure I fully understand what I exactly need to do on the Host and on the Guest, but I'll give it a try
