Guest clock runs slower than host ~1minute / hour

Post by MarkCranness »

My guest clock runs slow, about 1 minute slow every hour.
It starts out in sync, then runs 1/2 speed for a while then 2/3 speed then faster and almost gets to full speed, but then slips slowly after that.
The log is filled with these messages:

Maybe. I think its a combination of a bug (now fixed internally, I'm told: http://vbox.innotek.de/pipermail/vbox-d ... 02124.html, and follow the 'Next message' link at the bottom), and a design problem: VirtualBox does not correctly handle hosts that don't have 'Invariant TSC': http://vbox.innotek.de/pipermail/vbox-d ... 02127.html.
Once the bug fix shows up in a released version, I think I can construct a workaround fix... Waiting... it should fix itself.
(I misunderstood slightly how the catchup works, and I don't think a workaround will be needed, just the bug fix.)
