Hiccups on Kubuntu host

Hello,
i am new to both linux and virtual box.

I installed winXP SP3 on my Kubuntu 9.10 and i have these
hiccups (all-guest lag for ~2seconds every ~20seconds).
When i was running without the additions it displayed
a 100% CPU load during these (in taskmgr), with guest additions it just lags
and i can move the cursor.

I installed winXP SP3 and the problem ocurred out of the box.
It is really annoying as i have to do graphics and animation (Flash).

What could be the problem?
Thank you.

Install VirtualBox version 3.0.12 if you have not already and see if this helps.

I updated vb (sorry for not having done that before asking),
but the problem remains (i found out that it happens every 28-33 seconds).

The log is full of the below statements at approx 3 second intervals.

Code: Select all

ERROR [COM]: aRC=VBOX_E_IPRT_ERROR (0x80bb0005) aIID={fd443ec1-0006-4f5b-9282-d72760a66916} aComponent={Mouse} aText={Could not send the mouse event to the virtual mouse (VERR_PDM_NO_QUEUE_ITEMS)} aWarning=false, preserve=false
Unfortunately I have not seen this error before. We may need to wait for someone that has of one of the DEVs.
Putting VBOX_E_IPRT_ERROR 0x80bb0005 in Google shows this problem though.
It is possible that you may need to file a ticket in Bugtracker. I see there are some already there so look for one that matches and add your self to that ticket. Link in below my post.
