I am running Windows 7 host. Unfortunately 7 does not support my scanner, so I was hoping I could emulate XP and install the driver in XP and run my scanner under the vm. Is this possible? I have installed XP under virtualbox without incident, but most of my usb devices don't show up in device manager.
Any help is appreciated

Re: USB Passthrough
OSE Version does not support USB. Install the newest 3.0.12 PUEL Version.

Re: USB Passthrough
If you downloaded and directly installed VirtualBox from virtualbox.org, then you have the PUEL version, please update your profile (the OSE version must be compiled by you, so you'll know if you have that version!)
Capturing USB devices in the guest can be tricky. Search this forum for some suggestions given to other people who've had the same problem, but perhaps try this: While the WinXP VM is running, on the Windows 7 host 'Safely Remove Hardware' (or whatever) the scanner and see if that causes WinXP to pick it up?
