how do i run MDK

im new to this virtual box thing,all i want to do is run an old game and someone suggested this,it looks a complicated way to run a game,is there an easy way of doing so or not?the game is MDK1 and im on xp

That game might not even run on normal XP, so why bother? In any case, boot the VM to safe mode and install the Guest Additions with 3D support there. This makes sure 3D will be available. Shut down the VM and enable 3D. Boot the VM in normal mode and install the game. Hopefully, it starts the game without issues. In case there is some sort of copy protection, enable passthrough for the CD/DVD drive.

MDK works here: VirtualBox v2.2.4, host xp, guest xp+guest additions. MDK's graphic engine is CPU-only.
