Two questions about VB

Post by setari »

So I recently installed the latest version of this awesome software, and I put windows 7 on it. It works absolutely fine, but I have two questions:

1.) How can I make the VB screen fullscreen? When I hit the fullscreen button in the menu, it just gives a very large border around the actual VB screen. Does it have something to do with resolution maybe? (I'd test that now before I post this, but I am not at the computer with VB on it)

2.) That seamless setting, is it only for windows vista versions and down? Because it would have been nice to be able to use it yesterday when I was testing it out, and I was really excited to try out that seamless mode, but it didn't let me select it.

I'm currently using Win7 x64 as my host and in the VB machine too.

Thanks guys

Both can be found in the User Manual. Chapter 4 - Guest Additions. Especially 4.3 and 4.8.

What do you mean, didn't help? It explains how to get higher resolutions, and it explains what seamless is, what's needed and everything. Do I have to copy/paste it? Are you really that lazy?

I just asked if seamless mode worked in Win 7. Obviously it doesn't? You directed me to linux stuff? >.> I didn't see anything about higher resolutions either. Oh well.

You need Guest Additions installed. Read all about it in the manual, section 4.

After Guest Additions are installed, Host+G will toggle the 'Auto-size guest window' option which should give you a proper fullscreen. To see the current 'Auto-size guest window' setting, put the window OUT OF fullscreen mode and squint at the Machine menu on the menu bar of your running VM (top left).
'Auto-size guest window' is not described in the manual.

Now where did I point you to Linux stuff? I gave you the chapters in the user manual that are for Windows, not Linux.
