I installed VirtualBox 3.0.10 on Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.
Following that I have installed both Ubuntu and RedHat 4 as a guest OS.
While both installed fine and are working, when I try to use CTRL-C to break a running program within the System Terminal, the program continues running.
Pressing CTRL-C at the command prompt does nothing.
In previous installations on Windows XP pro there were no issues.
I have searched for this topic and found no help.
Any ideas?

Re: CTRL-C does not work in Terminal
Does xev produce code like this or not:
Run it from terminal.
Does a Ctrl+C work if you're not running anything, but type something, then press it? Maybe you forgot to give the terminal focus.
Code: Select all
KeyPress event, serial 34, synthetic NO, window 0x6200001,
root 0x1a7, subw 0x0, time 29432992, (562,743), root:(567,793),
state 0x10, keycode 37 (keysym 0xffe3, Control_L), same_screen YES,
XLookupString gives 0 bytes:

Re: CTRL-C does not work in Terminal
I ran xev from terminal - pressing CTRL-C does nothing using the right CTRL key.
However I did find that the left CTRL key does work.
That seems very odd. I can't recall ever seeing this behavior.
Any thoughts as to the right CTRL key is ignored.
The reason I didn't notice earlier is because I almost never use the left CTRL key.

Re: CTRL-C does not work in Terminal
A few minutes after posting this the problem hit me.
The right CTRL key is used to get out of the guest OS.
D'oh!
I've already slapped myself upside the head.
