I have the same dilemma as you Mcast.(I think). I'm logged in as admin and have other users on my Mac with non-Admin privileges.I have setup a Windows 7 VM and I would like to allow 1 of the other users on my Mac to start up VirtualBox on their account and access the Windows 7 vdi that I created on my Admin account and then have them start up windows normally and then log into their own Windows account, so as to avoid having more than 1 install of Windows.Any more help would be appreciated, until then I'll continue trying different settings and such.
Thanks

I am having the same exact problem. Mac OS X Snow Leapard with Windows XP Pro SP 3 guest. It installed the virtualbox folder under my library which is not accessable to other users. I want to have a single VM that multiple users can start and use (one at a time). I want to install my programs in this single VM and then when my family logs into using their individual IDs, I want them to be able to run this virtual machine. The machine is already loaded and configured under my library folder, so it may have to be moved to a shared folder and then have a ponter set so that each user points to this shared location.
I am a novice and need specific instructions regarding how to sent the environmental varriable(s) if that is required. Once this is set, how are the pointers for the existing VM fixed so that they know the names of the new .vdi file(s).
Thanks.
