Please help - what's the problem? Is it the virtual box problem or something else?

Virtual box 3.0.10:
I putted 1024 base memory, disk 20gb, 2cpu, enable vt-x

Thank you!

Please read the Forum Posting Guide and give us more information to work with. Have you tried the 32 bit version too?

I tried with 32 bit ubuntu desktop 9.10 and i get the same message

Also tried to install older 32 bit version of ubuntu 9.04 and it has installed good. When i tried to upgrade it to 9.10, one part of the installation went well and then when he begun to install components it has freezed again. Then I shuted down the box.

When i try to install 32 bit or 64 bit v. i get this messege:

BusyBox v1.13.3 (Ubuntu 1:1.13.3-1ubuntu7) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built in commands

(initramfs) Unable to find a medium containing a live file system.

What kind of information do you need more?

Well, that means that it's checking for the primary CD drive and that one doesn't have anything mounted on it. Are you sure the ISO is loaded properly and it's file hash match that in the hash file on the server?

Problem solved

The problem was in the medium. I used princo medium cd which obviously my master device doesn't like. So when i burned it on another media (dst) it has installed without any problems....
So, finally I have ubuntu in vbox.

Just don't know why it didn't worked when i tried to upgrade it from 9.04. I was doing upgrade direct from internet.
However, now works well

Thank you very much!

Upgrades tend to fail every so often, even on bare metal installs so nothing new there.

Why did you want to install through a CD? If you used the ISO directly, the install will go a lot faster.

I don't know, maybe just because I wanted to have cd iso, so when I burned it I just proceeded to install it

To be honest, didn't even thought of doing installation through disk.
Next time I will for sure.

Thx
