Hi all,
I have a guest linux fedora 11 running on host XP using 4 different adapters below
PCnet-FAST III (Bridged adapter, Realtek RTL8168/8111 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC)
PCnet-FAST III (Internal network, 'intnet')
PCnet-FAST III (NAT)
PCnet-FAST III (Host-only adapter, 'VirtualBox Host-Only Ethernet Adapter')
Host XP and guest linux gets IP addresses from DHCP server (router).
1/ From Host XP if I ping guest by name , it works but displays an IP address completely different from DHCP.
If From Host XP if I ping guest by IP address it works just fine.
2/ From guest Linux I CAN NOT ping host XP by its IP address nor by name, the shell just sits there and displays nothing.
Thanks
guest linux fedore 11 can't ping host XP

Switch to bridged if you have a router or change to host-only and use a second adapter set to NAT for Internet.
