I have been running virtual box successfully in the past on this machine, but I have relocated to a different city and ever since I cannot start virtual machines. I can format the drive I assign to the VM and can finish an installation of windows on the VM, but beyond this point the hard disk icon stops and I get a black screen, it simply dies after the "press any key to boot from cd...." message
It is worth mentioning that I reinstalled and formated a VM that used to work just fine before I moved...
And I can go to the repair console from the windows cd and it will locate the hard disk and it is possible to run chkdsk and dir etc...
Im running windows XP pro sp3, and I have an original CD which I use to install it to the virtual box, the CD is sp2.
My computer is good and clean of malware, 4g ram runs new games fast etc so it is not a memory problem or anything of that sort.(this is a desktop computer)
The virtual box program itself is working, and the only thing different in my current location is the ISP, it used to work just fine before I moved so even tho I cannot explain it I suspect it has to do with this problem some how...
I suspected it could be a security software blocking it some how but ive tried to turn them all off in proper way but it do anything.
Ive also tried reinstalling VB and I have the latest version installed.
Thanks for reading and any ideas any one here might have.
