virtualbox
Can someone help, I'm new to all this. I installed virtualbox onto pclinuxos. I was able to use my windows xp in the virtual box and it works fine. However when I shutdown windows to go back to my pclinux os I can't get online for some reason. I don't even see the network icons.

Re: virtualbox
Does a complete power down and restart of the host bring the network back or does it not exist at all without the guest?

Re: virtualbox
So if the guest is running the Host has Internet and if the guest is shutdown the Host does not have Internet?
Please be very clear about this for me.
I need to know what version of VirtualBox you are using including the build number.
Also attach a VBox log file for the guest.

Re: virtualbox
The only way I can get online now is through the guest. I can't get online via the host period.
I have Virtualbox 3.0.10_ose r54097
Where and how do I find the Vbox log file for guest.

Re: virtualbox
The main VirtualBox program GUI.
Click the guest once to get focus then click the Machine tab at the top and show logs.
Once the log is showing click Save and put it to where you can find it.
Then attach it to the post.

Re: virtualbox
I found the log but how do I get it to you seeing I don't have a internet connection on the host?

Re: virtualbox
Have you setup shared folders?
Put it in the share if you have and then send it from the guest.
Other than that you will need to uninstall VirtualBox and reboot the host then try to install it again.
Do you have any VPN client software running on the host?
That can sometimes cause this as well. Usually uninstalling the VPN software and then installing VirtualBox and then installing the VPN software will work.
Only a thought at this point.

Re: virtualbox
Morning Perryg, I was unable to get results for your lastest suggestion. However I've attached the log you request and maybe will find a solution from it, thanks.

Re: virtualbox
Well I am at a loss as to your next step. It looks like you will need to post this to bugtracker and let the DEVs have a look. Link is below my post and you will need to setup an account there as they are on a different system. Be sure to explain completely the problem and attach this log too. They are really strict about that part.
