SLES (Suse) 9 x86_64 not booting on VB 3.0.10 using VT

Post by bonjan »

Hi,

I'm trying to install a SLES 9 x86_64 as a guest on my Mac 10.6.1 using VirtualBox 3.0.10. It stucks on "Loading kernel... 0%".

If I disable VT and try with a SLES 9 x86 (32-bit) it works. If I enable VT and try again with the same 32-bit SLES 9 x86, it fails. I'm also happily running a Fedora 12 beta x86_64 guest with VT enabled without issues.

Since the guest frozes immediately, I can not check any log message or error on it. Could somebody point me what should I look for?

Regards,
Julio

I am on VirtualBox 4.0.8 and had experienced the same problem.

I ended up had to boot from SUSE 9 SP3 to get pass the hanging with "Loading Kernel ..." 0%, then I was prompted to insert SUSE 9 disk and the installation just went on smoothly.

Hope this helps.
