I have installed VirtualBox 3.0.10 in Windows 7 Home Enhanced x64 (final retail BOX).
Made a VM with Windows XP SP3 installed as a guest. VM has two NIC's, one with NAT, other set as "internal network", both AMD virtual cards.
When i check internal network between two similar Windows-XP machines (made second one by cloning hd, then making changes to network settings),
they see each other OK, but access to internet from any of them via NAT works very unstable on any system.
NAT NIC is set to DHCP and gets 10.0.2.15/24 network, 10.0.2.2 as a gateway. Somehow it gets 192.168.1.1 (my real wifi router IP) as a DNS server.
I tried to set it to 10.0.2.3, as written in manual, it does not work.
I have tried the same version of VirtualBox in Windows XP x64 as a host, with the same result.
Other software installed is: NOD32 antivirus 4.0.467 and Outpost firewall Pro 2009 6.7.1
Virtualbox.exe is given full access to network in Outpost.
Network is working unstable. Sometimes, when i fire up Opera on host(!) it starts working, sometimes i need to shut down Outpost... I don't know
which one triggers it to work for some time...
In Windows 7, i see VirtualBox network in networks control panel as an "unknown network" with no internet connection...
CPU: Core2Duo
RAM: 8GB DDR2
[Solved] VirtualBox 3.0.10 network problems
Re: VirtualBox 3.0.10 network problems
Third party firewalls as such cause many problems, stick to the default win firewall, see how that goes.

will try uninstalling both Outpost and NOD32 and trying without them, but it is not a solution, you understand.

Re: VirtualBox 3.0.10 network problems
Hello,
I'm facing the same problem.
I've installed Virtual box in win7 host in order to run debian linux.
If "VirtualBox Host-Only Network" is active, the host network connection is allways unstable (network fails and returns constantly. i.e.: Outlook presents a reconecting message each minute).
It happens even if no virtual image is running.
If I disable "VirtualBox Host-Only Network" adapter in windows 7 network settings, thenetwork works ok.
It seems something like an "excessive filtration process" in network, so excessive taht breaks netork connection.
Some one as solution for that?
