Bridged Networking -- Wireless Adapter

Post by darkgarage »

:?:
I am having an issue getting Bridged networking to work on my XP Host with XP as a Guest OS.

I am currently using VirtualBox 3.0.10

I am attempting to Bridge the Guest network adapter to a Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN Mini-Card, but the Guest will not pull an IP.

Now our corporate wireless network is currently configured using WPA TKIP encryption utilizing a RADIUS Server for user and machine authentication.

This requires that both the system and the user be members of special groups within Active Directory. All of these requirements are being met.

The issue that I think needs to be addressed is that the Guest system is treating the interface as Wired instead of Wireless so it is not sending the proper authentication headers when it attempts to connect.

I am wondering if it is possible to install 802.11 drivers on the Guest and somehow force the system to send the required credentials when it attempts to connect.

Any help would be awesome.

Which is not possible, the Guest will always see whatever VBox offers.

You can send 802.1X on a wired NIC too. At least Linux can do that with wpa_supplicant, setting the driver to wired. For Windows Guests, is it registered to the company domain?
