Make virtual machine connect Internet via proxy/socks

Post by Marsianin »

Is there a way to make VirtualBox (Windows Vista host) to connect Internet via PROXY/SOCKS ?
Programs like Proxifier, WideCap, ProxyCap does not work for VirtualBox but works for other programs.
And there is no out connection configuration...or I don't know how to configure...

If you set the VM for Bridged or NAT, then set the same proxy inside the Guest OS as your Host has. That should work. You won't receive a notification of updates for VB though, because the program doesn't use or has a proxy option (yet).

The problem is I have one program for Windows which bypasses all proxy settings even Proxifier/WideCap/SocksCap and tries to connect directly (it seems it uses svchost.exe to do it. So I want to run it under virtual machine thru socks but it works the same way.
That program uses IE proxy settings but IE cannot use SOCKS5 for any connection HTTP proxy only.
