Can the host use the VPN that is running on the VM?

I have a host machine that is running 64-BIT Windows 7. And a Virtual Machine running 32-BIT Windows XP. i have installed the 32-bit VPN client on the VM. I would like to be able to use the VPN client running in the windows XP VM in the Windows 7 host. Is it possible to build a bridge that works this way? I would like to be able to only use the VM to set the secured network and then use the host machine to run the programs that require the VPN.
The answer may be no, and then i will go down the road of partitioning my computer. I really enjoy Windows 7... and for work purposes i will have to suck it up and use XP.
ALSO, i did buy the WINDOWS 7 PROFESSIONAL, to try out their Windows xp mode. But the bios on my computer will not allow me to enable VT (even though i have a capable machine), so this software is useless. I plan on returning the Professional, unless Acer support can help me. But then my question still remain, can the VPN secured network be shared between the virtual and the host?
please let me know if you need additional information.
thanks,
amy
