VirtualBox 3.0.10 crashes when running VS 2010 Beta 2 on Windows Server 2008 with the DirectX extensions. I have a 30GB virtual drive and 1.5MB of memory allcoated.
I'd been running Server 2008 successful since I installed it yesterday. I installed Visual Studio 2005 yesterday and Visual Studio 2008 this morning. I ran both to get some baseline data for another project, and then installed Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2. The install worked, but when I went to start VS 2010, VirtualBox crashed with a complaint about MFC (with no error numbers attached.) I restarted VirtualBox and started VS 2010 again. It delayed at the splash screen and then VB crashed with the same error as before.
The last lines of the log file for the first crash are (this log file attached):
01:33:46.549 OpenGL Error: Render SPU: (MakeCurrent) failed to make 0x8d011648, 0x10001 current with 0x6 error.
01:33:46.679 OpenGL Error: SetPixelFormat failed (Error 0xc007001f)
01:33:46.679 OpenGL Error: Out of memory trying to (c)allocate 262148 bytes!
On the second attempt, the last lines of the log file are (this log file is not attached--it's 217k):
00:03:31.031 Changing the VM state from 'RUNNING' to 'GURU_MEDITATION'.
00:03:31.064 ERROR [COM]: aRC=E_INVALIDARG (0x80070057) aIID={26881797-bc98-444d-ac69-820633b93ec7} aComponent={Display} aText={Argument address is NULL} aWarning=false, preserve=false
(All this is running on a Core 2 Duo E6550 with 3GB of RAM. Yesterday, i was unable to install XP Pro, receiving an error similar to the one immediately above once it started copying files.)
