I had a problem with getting any sound from a Windows 7 64-bit guest in Virtualkbox 3.0.10.
I solved the problem with help from members here by downloading the correct (I think) AC'97 drivers from the RealTek site.
However while I now have sound it appears in only the left channel.

Close this thread as I have found the solution.
Emabarrassingly a connector had come loose and I was only getting one channel on the host as well.
