The VirtualBox 3.0.10 installation program locked up.
VirtualBox attempts to hook into the LAN adapter.
I recently installed a virtual TAP/TUN IPv6 Adapter (tspc-2_1_1-winxp.exe) from http://www.broker.ipv6.ac.uk
to connect to ipv6 servers.
I suspect VirtualBox was trying to hook into the ipv6 tunnel driver rather than the normal LAN adapter causing a lockup.
I un-installed the tspc-2_1_1-winxp.exe and disabled the virtual TAP/TUN ipv6 Adapter.
This time VirtualBox installed ok.
Has anyone else had experience of this problem ?

Why didn't you go with the build-in Teredo option: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library ... S.85).aspx ?
Anyway, I never used IPv6 on my Windows Host, only my Linux one. I can understand why VB will hang with the installer. It installs the Bridged driver for every NIC on the system, including virtual ones. And the latter can cause some problems for the installer, for example not accepting the driver.

If you want to connect to the Janet ipv6 network they recommend installing IPv6 tspc-client software which installs a virtual NIC through which you can tunnel into the IPv6 network. Janet act as a tunnel broker. I've been in touch with the ISP we use (British Telecom) but their IPv6 tunnel service is no longer available.

The short answer is to un-install tspc-client, install VirtualBox and then re-install tspc-client.
That might work although I haven't tested it.
