Windows 2000 as host?

I know, I know, according to documentation not supported. I know also that it is a most unusual combination. However, for me, Windows 2000 as a host would be a useful thing. Therefore a question, before I try it: Is it at all worth trying an installation of VB on w2k? Is there some deep reason why w2k is not supported as a host? Has someone tried that (with the current VB 3.0.10 for instance)? Is there any chance that w2k would be supported as a host in the future? I have months long superb experiences with Windows XP as a host and w2k and Ubuntu as guests, but I have this one older w2k machine on which it would be great to run VB too.
Thank you for any information.
