Installation will not Complete (3.0.8 and 3.0.10)

About how long should it take for version 3.0.8 or 3.0.10 to complete? I have installed version 3.0.6 and versions 3.0.7 and they ran for about 30 minutes. I have been trying to update to versions 3.0.8 and 3.0.10 running for hours and they never complete; eventually they comsume all resources and lock the system up. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing and same thing happens.
When systems are rebooted, network fails to start. I have to remove the networking devices, and reinstall.
Hosts are running Vista Business 64bit 8 GB of memory and 1.2 TB of free space.
Any one have any ideas?
