Sorry if this is a duplicate post; looks like the first one didn't make it.
I'm running VirtualBox 3.0.8 on CentOS 5.4/64-bit/AMD. I have a Vista Home Premium/64-bit guest OS, with the guest additions installed. No matter what I do, the display resolution is stuck at 800 x 600.
I've read other posts on this type of issue, as well as the documentation. Running 'VBoxManage setextradata ...' doesn't fix the issue. I've got another guest, Win XP Pro/32-bit, and the suggested fix works fine. I can get the XP/32 guest to run in 1024 x 768 mode, but the Vista/64 guest won't. Am I missing something, or is there something a bit flaky about the 64-bit (and/or Vista) guest?

Re: Display Resolution w/ Vista-64
Check the Machine menu, you have to enable automatic-resize. Host+G is the shortcut for it. Then you can drag the window to a different size and the resolution will match that.

Thanks, that did it. When I hit Host+G it resized the display properly.

Re: Display Resolution w/ Vista-64
I am running XP as guest OS and while my display is set at 1280x 1024, I still have grey boxaround my desktop. I tried to view in full screen but still my desktop seems centered in my monitor with a borderaround it. Is there a settin to have my host desktop open across full area of monitor?
