make your virtual computer make your computer sleep

Post by hagenc »

I have a virtual computer (it has windows xp) and i use it as a replacement for vista on my computer until i have time to format my hard drive and install xp. I just wanted to know if in the future, virtualbox could put togeather the ability to sleep the computer from the virtual computer. They could make it put into the guest additions. Please let me know.

Giving a VM the ability to alter the host like this as a std feature is very dangerous, so no I doubt whether this would ever be added. However, if you search my posts for the key guestproperty, you can see how you could do this yourself if you are comfortable scripting in WSH or PowerShell
