Hi all,
I am trying to get Ubuntu 9.10 installed in a VBOX (3.0.10) on my windows7 64 bit host. It installs fine and everything seems to work except the networking is flaky. By flaky I mean somethings work and others don't.
If I ping http://www.google.com in a terminal it seems to work. ifconfig shows lo and eth0. wget will retrieve http://www.google.com
however neither firefox nor Synaptic can get stuff of the Internet.
Any ideas?

Look at Windows firewall issues.

I added VirtualBox to the list of allowed programs to no avail. Anything else?

Are you using NAT?
Have you tried a total system reboot?

I have Ubuntu 9.10 guest working fine under Windows7 64 host. No problems with network at all. I do get a glxinfo crash message everytime I log in now but that is for another post.
