Anyone know of a way to remap VB's Cmd-R hotkey that resets a virtual machine? This is the same hotkey that redisplays a web page in OS X browsers and so of course I have on several occasions reset my VM in the midst of browsing in an Ubuntu guest. I've tried redefining the Reset menu item using a keyboard shortcuts via the Keyboards System Preference pane, but no joy. Ideas appreciated.

This is really annoying - and I'm surprised it's not been answered in the last 4 years!

Is there no way to remap CMD-R?

File->preferences (or on Mac it's probably VirtualBox->Preferences).

Then go to the "Input" tab and "Virtual Machine" pane and you should be able to find "Reset" there and rebind it.

v4.2.16 level of VBoxallows for OSX - Preferences reassigns just the host key

However, under VirtualBox 4.3 Beta 1 bunches of keys may be remapped

I think it should be possible to rebind the key in VBox 4.2.x using VBoxManage setextradata <vm> GUI/Input/MachineShortcuts. I don't remember what the host key combination on OS X is, I'll have to try it before providing the command.

Indeed it is in there - my mistake was to quickly look at the VBox Mgr settings panel, which looks a little like it.

Hallelujah - and I'm an atheist - now I finally can do my web work without resetting my entire environment. Thank you all!
