Why my apt-get is suggesting Virtualbox 3.0.10, but site itself doesn't say anything about it?

It's a test run. There are still quite some issues, so I suggest you don't upgrade. Especially if you have Windows Guests, no hardware-V options and enabled I/O APIC for them.

well i've installed and running 3.0.10 on fedora10 via the yum repo it seems to be running win2k3 ok, but will the new version be 3.0.11 or be confusing and have the same release number?

Same release number, different build. Problem is software virtualization, so if you have VT-x or AMD-v on, you're not having much problems.
