Host - Vista
Guest - XP SP3
VBox - 3.0.8 PUEL
Manually installed device driver on guest.
No driver available for host.
USB 2.0 off. Filter list has an empty include-all filter.
Devices menu of guest window shows device as "captured"
Boot guest, connect device. Host complains "device not recognized". When I click on the message box to open the dialog with more info (see attached png file), it lists the culprit device as VirtualBox USB.
This doesn't occur until the actual device I'm trying to connect (Moto E815 phone) is connected to the computer. I can connect a scanner to the guest, so it's not just the VBox USB, but rather some interaction of several items.
I've shut down and brought up the guest multiple times (not just "restart", but completely closing the guest) and still have the same phenomenon. In fact, if I click the "Devices->USB->Moto E815" while the guest is booting, it still shows as busy.
Any thoughts?
