Same exact problem for me. Just updated VBox to version 3.0.10 r54077 using the upgrade manager in Ubutu 9.10. Using existing Windows XP machine that has worked flawlessly in the past. Machine begins to boot then crashes.
Thanks for your attention.

1. Downloaded 3.0.8 .deb package from Virtualbox site (older builds)
2. Removed installed 3.0.10 package (synaptic package manager)
3. Installed downloaded package with dpkg

Same problem here with Virtualbox 3.0.10 r54077 under Ubuntu 9.04 host and Ubuntu 9.10 host with Windows XP guest.
I also tried recompiling the kernel modules manually via:
without a change.
The same guest runs fine with Virtualbox 3.0.10 r54077 under Mac OS X 10.5.8 host.

Hi,
After having upgraded to 3.0.10 r54077, the Windows XP guest OS stopped working. It would try to boot up and then crash. Any solutions yet. Thanks for the help.
Regards,
Sony.
