hi,
I have sucessfully virtual box running on my windows 7 system.
In my virtual box I have windows XP running fine as well.
Now it comes:
When I do an export (to backup my WINXP) and then import it, it crashes all the time.
I could find out why, the WINXP has lost the driver for my INTEL dual core CPU, and I can not reinstall the drivers.
Why does it happens for the restore ?
Am I do a wrong procedure for backup and restore ?
many thanks for helping me.
backup restore problems, need help please

What is the version of Windows 7?
When you import not all of the settings are set properly. Check (write down the settings information) from the original and compare them to the imported one.
I suspect that you need to turn on/off IO APIC or something related to the processor settings.
Also double check the HDD settings.

Re: backup restore problems, need help please
ok,
this works, thanks,
but in general it is not a good workaround, because normaly I don´t know what my config was, that is should be automatic in the backup.
Is there a chance that this will come in a higer virtual box version ?
thanks

As with anything they are trying to improve it all the time. We can only wait until it gets better.
