The company I am working for has a real virus problem and we are struggling to get rid of the infection. My boss came up with the solution to run Windows as a guest OS on Linux. Being a Linux user myself I looked at virtualbox as a solution. My question is: will it solve our virus problem or will the guest OS still be infected?

The guest OS can get as easily infected as a physical PC having the same network connectivity and running the same programs.
(The VM when its network card uses NAT is in effect running behind a router, so that can perhaps prevent some attacks.)

Infections can more easily be removed (with everything else...) by Reverting a snapshot.
