I have successfully installed Ubuntu and Windows 7 rc on to my vista host desktop using their .iso. When Windows 7 came out last week I bought the windows 7 home premium install cd hoping that it would have an .iso on it in addition to the .exe. But it doesn't. I still want to install it on to virtual machine using the cd. Can I mount the cd and install the virtual machine, then install the vbguesteditions iso, and then run that virtual machine from the guest editions iso with out the install disk in my cd drive every time I want to run the virtual machine?
If not, any other suggestions?

Re: install windows 7 from install cd
You install the CD version just as you do the ISO you just mount the CD/DVD instead of the ISO file in the guest settings.
Then you unmount the CD and start the Win 7 guest.
After it is started you click on the devices tab at the top and then install guest additions.
You do not need to leave either one mounted once they are installed.
