Hi all,

I am newbie here. I am using Virtual Box 3.0.8 on Windows XP Host and the
Guest SO is CentOS 4.8 (Red Hat).
So, We use VMWare too. I have a document that contains a configuration
to create virtual disks on VMWare, but now I need to create virtual disk
on Virtual Box. So, the steps are differents.
Well, I don't know how to do advanced configuration of the SCSI conttroler.
On VMWare, I have the option "Advanced" and "Virtual Device Node", and I
can select "SCSI 1:1". I can select the mode "Independent" and "Persistent" too.

So, how can I configure these options on VirtualBox?
Is there any way to do this?

Thank you very much!!!!

This is a very old thread, but it's the only one I found when searching this issue and it got no answer.

Since other will have the same issue and look for a solution, it makes sense to answer.

These are explained is in the manual in "Chapter 5. Virtual storage."

The equivalents of VMWare dependent, independent persistent, independent not persistent are to be found there, with names such as "normal images" "write-through hard disks", "shareable hard disk", "immutable images", "multiattach mode", "read-only image".

Tuning an image is done with VBoxManage storageattach or modifyhd.
