Accelerated OpenGL status (and Snow Leopard...)

Hi there. We write cross-platform OpenGL games, but we're totally broke and can't afford to buy dedicated hardware to test the Linux and Mac versions on, and I'm too lazy to reboot the main dev machine into Linux just so I can test the games out on it whenever I do a new build. So I've been investigating VirtualBox to solve the laziness issue.
I've got Ubuntu running all nice and lovely as a guest on my Vista dev box, and OpenGL works fine through Ubuntu - except for the fact it's running in software mode and at only a few frames per second. I did hear some rumour somewhere that OpenGL will be hardware accelerated in some forthcoming version of VirtualBox - what's the story here? Is there any progress?
Also... does Snow Leopard run nicely through VB on a Vista host, and will it, too, have hardware accelerated OpenGL? I'd really like to avoid buying a Snow Leopard mac just for the purposes of testing a game release out every 6 months.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Cas
