Installed Windows Server 2008 with no problems, but when trying to access network adapters, it says none installed. I looked at device manager and there seems to be no driver for the Ethernet Controller. I downloaded the NIC driver for my system, put it on a USB and checked the boxes to carry over my USB to the Server 2008 VB but it does not show up. I have 2 USB sticks check to carry over to the VB but none of them show up. All i get is the CD-Rom and of course the C: drive.
Whats the deal?
Windows 2008 Server no Network Adapter?

Re: Windows 2008 Server no Network Adapter?
You need to select the IntelPRO/1000 MT adapter in the VBox settings.
Also the drivers for your HOST NIC will not work in the guest, it is a virtual network adapter.

Re: Windows 2008 Server no Network Adapter?
Thank you very much for the reply.
My next question is, how to connect it directly to my network? I choose Internal Network in the settings, but it tells me I have a invalid selection.

Re: Windows 2008 Server no Network Adapter?
If you have a router you would select Bridged mode in the virtual network settings of VBox.
If you don't then you would need to add a second adapter set to NAT to be able to get to the Internet.
All of this is in the VBox Users Guide Chapter 6. Virtual networking
