I am using VirtualBox to simulate a Windows 2K3 network for various MCP exams practice.

The current scenario the text requires is two Win 2K3 servers networked together with one of them having an Internet connection.

For a simple network, I have been using the internal network setting (intnet.) Computer1 has been made a DNS server, while computer2 has the default Server 2K3-R2 configuration. Computer1 has been assigned a static IP address (192.168.0.1) while computer2 has an address assigned automatically, with 192.168.0.2 as an alternate.

My host is Win XP Pro which has a wireless connection to a router connected to my cable modem.

Here is the problem. I want to establish an Internet connection with computer1 and set up ICS so that computer2 can connect to the Internet through computer1. So far, I can only establish an Internet connection on a guest OS if I have the network setting set at NAT for that virtual box. Once I set either or both virtual boxes to the NAT network setting, I cannot ping one from the other.

In other words, I need these two Server 2003 virtual machines to see each other and and the same time I need one of them to have Internet access.

I cannot afford to set up a lab with a physical network, and VirtualBox helped me pass one MCP exam so far. How can I leverage it to emulate this simple 2-server workgroup (no domain, no Active Directory)?

In the same way you would do it on a real network set up. Add a second NIC to the ICS server. Isn't that kind of logic required to complete MCP exams?

So? Did you think about that or not? It would've helped more if you explained what you already tried to fix it.
