Yes Vista and Win7 are very flaky in the latest version of VBox for some reason.
Only Windows XP and Ubuntu is running okay for me whereas Vista and Win7 worked fine in previous releases.

Update: Okay latest 3.0.10 version seems to work alot better with Windows 7 so install that if you haven't already.
