Problem:Mouse Integration, Shared Folders and Raw Partitions

Hi Virtualbox Users,
I've searched on this, and no answers so far. Hopefully I haven't missed something obvious:
I run Virtulalbox 3.0.8 on Ubuntu Jaunty. I have a raw WindowsXP partition which I am able to boot using VB. This gives me the ability to run Windows natively, or to run it in a VM under Ubuntu. I have this set up using different hardware profiles. This all works very well.
My problem is with the Guest Additions. The mouse integration driver works perfectly when running Windows under VB, but causes Windows to BlueScreen when booted natively. When I remove Guest Additions, I can boot Windows using either method.
I can live without automatic mouse capture -- so am happy without the mouse integration. (Though I thought this feature was supposed to be fixed?) However, I do need certain Guest Additions installed to make the virtual Windows usable. I have found that the Guest Additions can be manually extracted, and this has allowed me to manually install the PCNet Ethernet controller and the VirtualBox Device -- they work great. However, I can not figure out how to install the Shared Folders feature? There is no obvious way for me to install the DLL and SYS file that I have manually extracted...
Shared Folders works fine when I install the full Guest Additions, but then this prevents me booting natively (mouse integration issue). Is there some way to install only the Shared Folders DLL and SYS files? (I can see them, just don't know what to do with them)
Thanks!
