Intel PRO/1000 T Server port forwarding
Intel PRO/1000 T Server port forwarding
Just a quick one...I know how to do port forwarding using the PCNet-FASTIII adapter, with the abbreviation 'pcnet'. What's the equivalent abbreviation for the Intel PRO/1000 T Server?

Re: Intel PRO/1000 T Server port forwarding
From the user manual:
The above example assumes a PCNet virtual network card; if you have configured the guest to use the Intel PRO/1000, replace "pcnet" with "e1000" in the above commands. Similarly, if you want to configure a different interface instance replace the /0/ with the appropriate index. pcnet and e1000 are counted separately in this respect, and counting starts at 0 for both types.

Sorry, I must have missed that (I do try to look first!). Thanks!

One other thing...Is there any reason to prefer one over the other? Such as performance, compatibility, etc.?

It varies, I have extreemly good performance with pcnet and others with intel.
