IP Address of The Guset OS

A quick question from a non virtualbox user.

I read that the Guest OS gets assigned an IP address automatically in bridged mode.
So if I install a webserver for example in the guest OS, will I be able to access it with no problems from my host OS through that local IP?

Host & Guest OS = Windows XP.

Thanks for your time.

Only when a DHCP server is on your network (like a router). If you're directly connected to the internet, the Guest won't get an IP address.

I'm only concerned about local access, from the host OS to the guest OS, so let's pretend I don't even have an internet connection.
I just want to know if it will be possible for me(as a host OS) to access some services(possibly a http server) running on the guest OS with no troubles..
e.g.,
http://MyGuestOSLocalIP:PORT/stuff

If it's only Host <> Guest traffic, nothing from outside the Host, then use Host-Only. See the manual, chapter 6 for more information.
