[Solved] Internet Connection isn't sharing

Post by WGUS »

My main OS is Windows Vista.

I am trying to share the connection with my Windows XP VirtualBox.

I am unable to get it to work, so if anyone could help me I'd appreciate it very much.

Also my internet connection is wireless.

Just set the Guest to use NAT, that's all that's needed to get internet on the Guest. Make sure your firewall (other than the default Windows one) isn't blocking VB. See the VirtualBox FAQ for some problematic apps.
If you want your VM to be a part of your physical network, use Bridged with your wireless interface.

I tried setting it to NAT and it still isn't receiving internet connection.

I also would like to add that my firewall is disabled [I only use Windows Defender Firewall, but as I said it is currently off]

I've also tried bridging and it didn't work either.

Then what are the settings of the Guest and the network configuration in the Guest (IP address etc.).

After re-installing the Windows XP it worked properly.

Guessing I had a corrupt install.

This can be deleted/closed.
