The wireless adapter has been bridged with the loopback adapter, creating a Mac Bridge Miniport adapter. In Virtualbox, the bridged adapter is connected to the Mac Bridge Miniport (since the wireless adapter is no longer available for selection).
However, from the guest OS (Windows 2008), it is not able to ping the default gateway successfully, effectively losing its Internet connectivity.
Everything works when the bridged adapter is connected to the wireless adapter instead.
Any help would be greatly appreciated !
Thanks.

Re: Mac Bridge Miniport as Bridged Adapter Issue
Why would you bridge the wireless to a loopback adapter? If you don't need it, remove that bridge and use the wireless NIC directly.

Re: Mac Bridge Miniport as Bridged Adapter Issue
I'm running GNS3 (www.gns3.net, a virtual Cisco network simulator) and the only way for it to communicate with the physical network is through the loopback adapter when it is bridged to the physical (wireless) adapter. The virtual network devices are able to communicate with my Host, but it can't communicate with any of the virtual machines as the virtual machines cannot connect to the physical network when bridged through the Mac Bridge Miniport adapter.
Thanks !

Re: Mac Bridge Miniport as Bridged Adapter Issue
GNS3 shouldn't need a bridge to let the virtual devices talk to your Host and vice versa. Could you post where you read that?

Re: Mac Bridge Miniport as Bridged Adapter Issue
I have tried connecting the 'Cloud' to the wireless adapter, but it doesn't work. Only when the 'Cloud' is connected to the loopback adapter which is bridged to the wireless adapter is it able to communicate with the physical network.

Re: Mac Bridge Miniport as Bridged Adapter Issue
Ah, you want it to have access to the physical network. That makes sense. I thought it was an isolated environment with GNS3 and your Host only.
Well, I don't run Windows as main OS anymore and wireless is something I don't need on that either, so I can't help you with this. Maybe a Windows guru can give you the answer you need.
